Wool of the Andes Worsted
316 reviews
4.7/5
$3.79 / 50g skein

For the sweater you’ll wear a thousand times or the blanket you use every night, our classic worsted wool yarns are carefully spun and blended to achieve a wonderfully balanced twist. The strong fibers spun from Peruvian wool offer an excellent balance of structure, fluff and drape for a variety of uses. This sturdy, versatile yarn is warm in all kinds of weather, with excellent stitch definition and heirloom durability. It’s ideal for cable sweaters, knitted stitch afghans and everyday accessories. While careful hand washing will keep your stitches fresh and your sweater long-lasting, Andean wool also feels exquisite under warm water and agitation, creating a fabric that is warmer and more durable than knitting alone.

Andes wool is also available in sport and bulky weights; Superwash in Worsted and Superwash in Bulky for machine wash convenience; and Country Tweed for classic style.

CotLin

$2.99 - $3.99 / 50g skein

CotLin is a cool, lightweight blend of Tanguis cotton and summer linen that is perfect for bath and spa gifts for children and adults as well as summer knits. Tanguis (tan-gwiss) cotton is very soft to the touch, extremely absorbent, and because it is a naturally white fiber, it has a high affinity for dyes. Belgian linen adds characteristic spotting and extra absorbency with very low elasticity – helping to reduce the stretch of the finished knitted fabric. Summer flax has a longer growing season, so the fibers are longer and stronger. When blended with the already strong Tanguis cotton, it makes a durable, abrasion-resistant and soft yarn. Knitted fabrics also become softer with each wash.
